Dr. Sarah E. Guttery, DVM

Veterinarian

Sarah E. Guttery is originally from Jacksonville, Florida, but she grew up in Dunwoody, Georgia, which is where she developed her love for animals and life-long ambition of becoming a veterinarian.

Dr. Guttery attended Auburn University, and she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1987, followed by her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She has practiced veterinary medicine in Brevard County since 1990.

Over the years, Dr. Guttery has developed a relationship built on trust with clients who visit Cocoa Veterinary Hospital from Titusville, Cocoa, Merritt Island, Cocoa Beach, and Melbourne. Some people even travel as far away as Kissimmee, Lakeland, and Edgewater for her services!

Dr. Guttery’s interests include medicine and surgery for small and exotic animals. She is also a member of the admissions committee at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.

Today, Dr. Guttery lives in Titusville with her husband, John. They raised three wonderful sons: Wesley, Ryan, and Jason. Although she and her husband are both Auburn alumni–War Eagle!–all three boys received their undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Florida–Go Gators!

As an active member of Park Avenue Baptist Church, Dr. Guttery goes on medical mission trips overseas every year, primarily to Kenya. Her personal interests also include running, especially triathlons. She continues to pursue her goals of running a marathon in all 50 states and qualifying for the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Hawaii.

Dr. Guttery also loves skiing, rock climbing, and scrapbooking. She loves spending time in Gainesville with her husband as well as their three boys, two daughters-in-law, their grandson, and their granddaughter!

Dr.-Arcelia-Moon
Dr. Arcelia Moon, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Arcelia Moon earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine and brings nearly a decade of hands-on experience to Cocoa Veterinary Hospital. Her clinical background includes small animal and exotic pet care, with early roles as a kennel technician and veterinary assistant before and during veterinary school. She is FAMACHA scoring and Fear FreeTM certified, allowing her to provide gentle, low-stress care to each patient.

Dr. Moon’s passion for veterinary medicine was sparked early in life while caring for a variety of pets, from guinea pigs to geckos. Growing up in Georgia, she saw a need for veterinarians who could treat exotic species and was inspired to help fill that gap. She believes that exotic pets deserve the same level of attention and medical care as more traditional companions and is dedicated to advocating for their wellbeing.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Moon enjoys crocheting, watching movies, exploring new crafts, and spending time with her five rabbits and her dog, Koa.
